01. ABOUT RECIPES

Moong Dhal Chilla is a savoury Indian pancake made from ground Moong dal (split green gram), blended into a smooth batter with spices and herbs. It is high in protein, fiber-rich, and light, making it an ideal breakfast, snack, or light meal for health-conscious individuals.

02.INGREDIENTS

  • Yellow Moong dal (split, skinned) –200 g( soaked for 3–4 hours)
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • Green chilli – 1–2 (adjust to spice level)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as needed



  • Oil/ghee – for cooking
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp, chopped
  • Onion – 2 tbsp, finely chopped

04. INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Wash yellow Moong dal well and soak in enough water for 3–4 hours.
  • Drain the soaked dal.
  • In a mixer, blend dal with ginger and green chilli, adding just enough water to make a smooth, thick batter.
  • Add salt and optional ingredients (cumin, coriander, onion). Mix well.
  • Heat a non-stick tawa or flat pan on medium heat and lightly grease with oil.
  • Pour a ladle of batter in the center and spread it into a thin round.
  • Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges.
  • Cook for 2–3 minutes until golden at the bottom, then flip and cook the other side for 1–2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney, tomato chutney, or yogurt.
