GLP-1 (Mounjaro®) Injections for Weight Loss

Managing weight can be challenging, especially when lifestyle changes alone are not enough. At VeCura Wellness, we provide doctor-supervised GLP-1 receptor therapies such as Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) to support safe and effective weight management.

This once-weekly injection works by targeting the body’s natural hormones that control appetite and satiety. It helps reduce cravings, improves fullness, and supports long-term results when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and regular physical activity — with clinical studies showing up to 22.5% weight loss.

How Does Mounjaro Work?

How Does Mounjaro Work?

Mounjaro activates GIP & GLP-1 receptors, reduces cravings, slows digestion, balances blood sugar, and supports satiety.

  • Activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors to regulate appetite, improve satiety, and naturally support better weight management by enhancing the body’s natural hunger and fullness signals.
  • Reduces cravings and helps you feel full sooner, allowing you to enjoy smaller meals and stay satisfied longer, which supports better control of eating habits and long-term weight goals.
  • Slows stomach emptying to control hunger and support portion management, making it easier to reduce overall calorie intake and promote healthier eating patterns for weight control.
  • Balances blood sugar by slowing glucose absorption and improving insulin sensitivity, which helps stabilize energy levels and supports healthier metabolic function for long-term results
  • Works best when combined with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and doctor supervision, ensuring safe, effective, and sustainable weight management tailored to individual health needs.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible for GLP-1 therapy if you are living with obesity or are overweight with related health conditions. Our doctor will carefully review your BMI, medical history, and current health before prescribing treatment.

  • Adults with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher (classified as obesity) may qualify for GLP-1 therapy under proper medical guidance to support safe, effective, and sustainable weight loss.
  • Adults with a BMI between 27 and 30 kg/m² who also have a weight-related health condition may be eligible for GLP-1 therapy, provided treatment is managed with medical supervision.
  • Weight-related conditions such as prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, which often make weight control difficult, can qualify adults with a BMI of 27 or more for GLP-1 therapy support.
  • High blood pressure or abnormal cholesterol levels are common risk factors that may make GLP-1 therapy a suitable treatment option for adults struggling with obesity or weight control.
  • A history of sleep apnoea or cardiovascular disease may also qualify an individual for GLP-1 therapy, making it a helpful treatment to support weight management and overall health.

Dosing & Schedule

Mounjaro is designed as a once-weekly injection that can be taken at a time that suits you. The treatment begins with a low starting dose to let your body adjust, followed by gradual step-ups if recommended by your doctor. Each dose level is maintained for at least four weeks to ensure safety and effectiveness. If your injection day changes, always maintain a minimum three-day gap between doses.

  • Inject once weekly on the same day, at any time of day, with or without food.
  • Start with 2.5 mg weekly for the first 4 weeks as an initiation dose.
  • tep-up doses: 5 → 7.5 → 10 → 12.5 → 15 mg, only if needed and tolerated.
  • Each step lasts ≥ 4 weeks before moving to the next higher dose.
  • Keep 3 days gap between doses if you change your regular injection day.

What to Do If You Miss a Dose?

If you miss your usual injection day, you still have some flexibility. When you are up to four days late, you can take the dose and continue as normal. If more than four days have passed, it’s safest to skip that week and take the next dose on your regular day. Always avoid taking two doses close together.

  • ≤ 4 days late → Inject as soon as possible, then return to your regular weekly schedule.
  • > 4 days late → Skip the missed dose and wait until your next scheduled injection.
  • Important: Never take two doses within 3 days or double up to make up for a missed dose.
