01. ABOUT RECIPES

Moringa Uthappam is a nutritious South Indian thick pancake made from traditional idly/dosa batter, enriched with fresh chopped moringa leaves. The addition of moringa, often called the “miracle tree,” enhances the nutritional profile, while onions and green chillies add flavour and a mild kick. Lightly cooked with minimal oil, it is soft, filling, and a wholesome choice for breakfast or snacks.

02.INGREDIENTS

  • Idly/Dosa batter (rice + urad dal) – 80 g
  • Moringa leaves (fresh, chopped) – 15 g
  • Onion (finely chopped) – 10 g



  • Green chilli – 1 g
  • Salt – 0.5 g
  • Oil – 3 g

04. INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Use standard idly/dosa batter (fermented rice and urad dal).
  • Combine chopped moringa leaves, onion, green chilli, and a pinch of salt.
  • Heat a tawa, pour the batter (approx. 80 g), and spread to a thick round.
  • Sprinkle the moringa-onion mixture over the batter.
  • Drizzle oil around edges, cook on medium flame until the base is golden. Flip and cook lightly on the other side.
  • Pairs well with coconut chutney or Sambar.
